Go ahead and use the snippet in the RSS feed, as long as it links directly back and doesn't do anything grey or worse on the ethics side.

I can say I have personal experience trying to rebuild a large GPO that has become corrupt. Not fun. If you split your GPOS up in very small tasks, its easier to manage. I often have GPOs that only have one setting in them. I just make sure that I disable any unused admin templates and turn off computers and users when appropriate. I also find it a lot easier to find out where settings are when a GPO is called “Turn off IE proxy server” rather than “User settings for San Diego”. RSOP works but it only goes so far.

I for one completely agree with the author on this problem. I have been an IT contractor for the last 10 years now and there has only been 3 or 4 companies at the most that have actually had their AD fully setup and configured to the point where everything works as it should. AD is a great tool for networks, honestly without AD, Business's all over the globe would be what i commonly refer to as "F***ked" .. I myself have taken steps at my own job in finishing the full configuration of AD. I think everyone else that has the ability and the knowledge to do so, do the same .
